Maddie At The Museum: An Exhibition of Music and Movement

Maddie At The Museum: An Exhibition of Music and Movement

Apr 10 - 11

Moreau Center for the Arts, O'Laughlin Auditorium

Join Saint Mary's College Opera Workshop and Dance Ensemble Workshop in a collaborative performance!

Maddie at the Museum is a family-friendly production that will take the audience on a journey watching as a curious child walks the magnificent galleries of an art museum.  A vibrant collaboration between Dance Ensemble Workshop and Opera Workshop at Saint Mary's, Maddie at the Museum has works of art coming to life in song and dance.

The program features scenes from great operatic repertoire including "Le Nozze di Figaro" and "Hansel & Gretel" alongside brand new compositions and choreography. Students and faculty in the Moreau Center for the Arts embrace the call of the liberal arts bringing thought, emotions, and perception into real life using dance and works of operatic repertoire.

A full community project, this production includes brand new music including a premiere composition by music faculty member Zae Munn, featuring professional faculty and community musicians. Dance Ensemble Workshop invites guest choreographer alumna Elyse Paul '20 and the student choreographers help build these exciting and diverse works.

With technical direction and projections created by  Michaela Duffy and costume design by Melissa Bialko, this full production shows the heart of artistic creation that lives at Saint Mary's and we invite the audience to share in the story we've created together.
